As a species, we are the most adaptable on earth, with the capability to transform ourselves to the environment and setting we are in. Consider our ability to live in extreme conditions from the North Pole to the Sahara Desert to outer Space!
One reason people are able to adapt is due to the brain’s plasticity. A prime example of this can be found in research conducted on London black cab drivers, whose brains physically changed after studying for their 'knowledge' test, with an increased posterior hippocampus being observed. A living, breathing street map of London being the end product.
At Adaptivemind we take advantage of this inbuilt mechanism to fast track adaptation by applying a 4 step process to bring about tangible results.
STEP ONE: UNDERSTAND
In partnership with the client we begin by understanding the outcome to be achieved, the context that they find themelves in, and the underpinning cause preventing them from being able to adapt.
STEP TWO: ADAPT
Once we have developed our understanding we begin to build and implement the strategy to adapt and move towards the agreed outcome. These strategies incorporate insights from the world of sport and business, combined with cutting edge research and practical actions.
STEP THREE: LEGACY
initially, we plan for the legacy of change by recognising events and thinking patterns which might lead us back to where we started. We support you to monitor and assess the legacy over time so that the changes are embed permanently.
STEP FOUR: RESULTS
Tangible results vary depending on the outcome to be achieved but may include increased engagement, greater productivity, higher resilience, better leadership skills, wider well-being, and reduced turnover of staff.
